Michelle Strasser - Fine Artist
Michelle Strasser was born in Würzberg Germany in 1972, grew up in America, and moved to Switzerland in 1999. She excelled in art classes while growing up, winning awards and receiving recognitions from teachers along the way. Her High School purchased some of her art work and it is still permanently on display in the library. After graduation from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, in 1990, she attended Rhema Bible Training Center and received a two year degree. Along side her schooling, Michelle was extremely active in painting portraits and murals, and one of which published on the front page of the Tulsa World in 1991. During this time, she worked a 50% job painting murals. After Graduation from Rhema in 1992, she then studied Graphic Design at a local technology center for a year where she won the State VICA competition in the category for Advertising Design. This provided her two small scholarships to choose from. She chose OSU-Okmulgee, and graduated with an associate’s degree in Visual Communications in 1995. For the next 4 years she worked in the field of Visual Communications. During this time, she started a series of pencil drawings and experimented with oil.
In 1999 Michelle moved to Basel, Switzerland, and began learning German. She continued her drawing series but put the oils aside a while. It wasn’t long before she began experimenting with acrylics in a way that was new to her. She painted many modern and 3-dimentional art works, while at the same time, volunteering as Children’s Pastor for 6 years. In 2009, she resigned as Children’s Pastor and began focusing more intensely on art.
Michelle’s works display a variety of styles. Some of her works are playful, some share thoughts, feelings, perspectives, or are results of studies or meditations. Mostly, the collection of Michelle’s works flow from a heart of Love for the Creator and her Savior, Jesus Christ.
